Loving care for the pet

Do I need a reservation for boarding?
We strongly encourage that you call us in advance for boarding. Our kennel can fill up quickly during the holiday season, so please call ahead to make a reservation.

Do you sell flea medicine over the counter, or do I need to bring my pet in first?
We carry a wide selection of flea/tick medications, most of which you do not need to bring your pet in prior to purchasing. The only flea and tick prevention that requires seeing your pet is Comfortis tabs. You must register your pet at our clinic and allow us to get a current weight before we can dispense the medication. There is no additional fee for this procedure.

Do you sell heartworm prevention?
Yes. We do, however, require that the pet be tested for heartworms prior to starting prevention. There are risk factors associated with adminstering heartworm prevention to a dog that has tested positive for heartworms, so we must take steps to ensure that a pet is not infected before prescribing the medication.

Is it important to keep my pet on heartworm prevention? Yes. Heartworms are easy to prevent, yet costly to treat once a pet becomes infected. There are also numerous health risks associated with infection, including death. For this reason, we strongly urge owners to give heartworm prevention monthly.

Can my dog catch heartworms from another dog?   No. Heartworms are only transmitted through the bite of an infected mosquito. However, if there are heartworm positive dogs in your area, that is a clear indicator that there are mosquitoes in your vicinity that are carriers of the heartworm larvae. Heartworm disease has been found in all states.

FAQS

Do I need an appointment to bring my pet in?
No. We only require an appointment if your pet is coming in for surgery. For routine/sick visits, you can come in between our regular walk-in hours, which can be found on our home page.

What Time usually the surgeries are performed ?
Surgeries are performed Monday - Friday between the hours of 12:00 pm and 4:00 pm. We are usually unable to take walk-ins during these hours. If you wish to come during these times, please call ahead.

Do you groom pets?
We do give baths, but we do not have a groomer if your pet needs a haircut or trim.

When can I bring my pet for a bath? We accept drop-offs for baths between the hours of 7:30 am - 1:00 pm Monday through Saturday. Pets are usually ready for pick up2-3 hours after drop-off.  We do require that your pet be up to date on his or her Rabies vaccination in order to receive a bath.

Does your clinic offer boarding?

Yes. We have a kennel that can house small and large dogs. We have a fenced in yard that allows the dogs plenty of individual outdoor time each day. In order to reduce the risk of injury, we do not offer "play time" between the pets. We do, however, offer lots of love to each pet who spends time here in our kennel. We know that being away from his or her owner can be a stressful time, so we try to make their stay as comfortable as possible. In order to protect all pets in the kennel, we do require that each pet be up to date on all vaccinations to stay.
